How are queries and filters related?
They both can be used to select specific records from a table. Filters
are very much like simple queries. You can even save a filter as a query.
If you want to save a filter as a query, first make sure you are in Filter by Form mode. Then click the Save As Query toolbar button 
and provide a name for your new query. Your query will show up in the main
database window under queries. (Note: By default all fields in the table
will be displayed in the query. However, you won't see any fields if you
switch to Query Design view. The query properties are set to display all
fields in the table.)
