What is a control?

A control is a graphical element used on forms and reports. The following picture contains eight controls:

Did you find them all? (Don't forget the rectangle control on the left and the text box control inside the tab control on the right.)

A control can be used to:

  1. Display a value from a table.
  2. Enhance the appearance of a form or report.
  3. Display a calculated field.
  4. Perform an action.
