A report is another type of object used in most databases. A report specifies how data in the database will be printed (usually to paper). Here is an example of a printed report:

A report definition is divided into sections. Sections determine where information will appear on the report. The contents of a report are specified by controls. A control may be a label, calculated field, decorative line, or field from a table or query.
