Spreadsheet Review
Are you prepared to take
the test for the spreadsheet module? If you can do all of the following
in a direct and efficient manner, you should do well:
- Know when to use a spreadsheet (Given
a problem description, determine whether or not a spreadsheet should be
part of the solution.)
- Create a new workbook or open an old one
- Preview a workbook
- Identify the parts of a standard spreadsheet
(raw data, reference values, first order calculations)
- Enter data including text, numbers, and
formulas
- Select a range of cells
- Enter formulas that have range references
(i.e., =sum(A1:C3))
- Format cells to improve the appearance
of a spreadsheet
- Change column widths
- Use the function browser to select and
use built-in formulas
- Use functions with absolute and relative
references
- Sort columns and rows in a spreadsheet
- Create a simple chart
- Create an amortization table
- Describe how a spreadsheet can be used
to perform what-if analysis and explain how that can help you make better
decisions
