Lesson 6: Working With Formulas and Functions


How do you display the formulas in each cell?

You already know that the formula of the selected cell is always visible in the entry bar.

The cells of the spreadsheet typically show only the resulting values of the formulas in them, not the formulas themselves.

But you can easily see all of the cells' formulas at once by choosing the Formulas option from the View menu: 

This will cause the Formulas option to be marked in the menu with a checkmark, indicating that it's been chosen:

And the spreadsheet now looks like this:

To switch back to viewing results only, select the View/Formulas option again, which will remove the checkmark.
