How does the Return key compare to the Enter key?

The Enter key is used to mark the end of a paragraph. The Return key is used to move the insertion point to the beginning of the line. With a typewriter it is necessary to press Return at the end of each line. With a word processor there is no need to signal the end of a line because the end of a line is determined other factors such as page margins, font size, etc.
