Whether you are using Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0, there are two methods of starting Microsoft Word 97. If there is a vertical Office Bar on the right side of the screen, click on the Word icon there. Or you can start Word by clicking the Start menu, pointing to the Programs group, and clicking the Word program menu item. The program opens in a window, and starts with new empty document called Document1.
