Before printing a document, you should preview it to make sure it looks the way it should.
There are two ways to print a document from Microsoft Word. You can select the Print button on the toolbar or select Print... from the File menu. The Print button on the toolbar will print one copy of your document at the default settings. The Print command will bring up a dialog box to allow you to specify print options. Here is an example:
Printing procedures and devices vary widely between installations. If you are working in a public lab check with your lab instructor for the proper procedures for printing.
One last caveat: It is good practice to save your document before printing. If something goes wrong during printing it's possible Microsoft Word will freeze and not let you save your work.
