Lesson 7: Paragraph and Large Block Formatting
How do you duplicate character and paragraph formats easily?
Paragraph formats are settings that apply to a whole paragraph: indentation, alignment,
spacing, etc. Character formats are settings that apply to groups of characters: font,
size, style, etc.
There are many different paragraph and character format options. Sometimes it is easier
to copy character and paragraph formats from one location to another, rather than to set
them individually. With one toolbar button you can copy both paragraph and character formats.
Here are the detailed steps for copying paragraph formats from one paragraph to
another:
- Set the insertion point in the paragraph with the formats you want to copy.
- Click the toolbar
button. (You should notice that the shape of the cursor changes to )
- Click the paragraph that you want to copy the formats to. Note: Click between words or
at the end of the destination paragraph. If you click on a word in the destination
paragraph, the character format of the source will be copied to the word you click.
Here are the detailed steps for copying character formats from one location to
another:
- Set the insertion point on the characters with the formats you want to copy.
- Click the toolbar
button. (You should notice that the shape of the cursor changes to )
- Select the characters you want to copy the formats to.
